Walking Out Your Prophetic Word

Stay Open To Gods' Plan

Stay open to Gods' plan whether you understand it or not. God speaks things that do not appear to the natural eye into existence. Forget about where you have been. Think about where you are. You may not see how God is going to accomplish what He said He will accomplish in your life. You may not see yourself the way God sees you. Just know that He is smarter than you and what He has spoken will come to pass. Don't be a doubting Thomas negating the prophecy with negative words and attitude. Cooperate with the Lord for the fulfilling of His plans for you.

Consider Gods' Timing

Consider timing. God creates a hunger in you before He brings into the natural what He has planned for you. You will often sense a holy dissatisfaction with the way things are as a prelude to Him bringing about change. Many misinterpret this God given dissatisfaction and blame it on the people and circumstances around them. Marriages even break up because people think "I am just not happy". Don't waste your restlessness. Seek God for what He is doing in the spirit realm and for what He is preparing you for.

a. There are two types of timing mentioned in the bible. They are chronos and kairos.

i. Chronos- refers to a space of time whether long or short; it is where we get the word chronological, the timing and existence that we are familiar with.
ii. Kairos- a fixed or definite period, sometimes an opportune or seasonal time, a season, a time, a period possessed if certain characteristics.

Chronos marks quantity, kairos marks quality. Broadly speaking chronos expresses the duration of a period, kairos expresses it as marked by certain features, thus in Acts 1:7 " the Father has set within His own authority both the times (chronos-length of the periods) and the seasons (kairos-epochs which means a period of time characterized by certain (stiking) events)".

Of reaping and sowing Gal 6:9 reads "at the proper time (kairos) we will reap a harvest if we do not give up" NIV
The Message translates it as "at the right time"

b. Always be aware that God speaks the end of a matte, the destiny. Then He brings you back to the beginning to start the journey. Don't become impatient. God will never take you straight from step 1 to step 10. It is a process. Some prophetic words are given three, five, ten even twenty five years in advance. What is important is that you recognize the road you are on and ask Holy Spirit to help you stay on the right one. God has promised us that He would show us the best pathway for our lives.

Pay Attention To Conditional Words

Pay attention to any conditions that may be included in your word. Things such as if you obey my word, or as you spend more time in prayer or while you soak in my presence. Endeavor to do those if's, as's and while's that may be conditions for the fulfillment of the word of prophecy over your life.

Don't Just Hear, Listen

Don't just hear, listen. Something as simple as having the wrong mindset when you hear a word can throw you off. If we have a preconceived notion of what we think a statement means it will taint its true meaning.

Trust God

Trust God.
a. "Be anxious for nothing" You cannot worry your word into existence. As a matter of fact, worrying may just hinder that word from coming to pass. In order to hear God you need peace. Worry stifles your peace. Don't spend all your time fretting over the destiny, enjoy the journey. Seek God in the day to day ways that He will fulfill His destiny in your life. As I have said before, He never takes us from step one to step ten without doing all the steps in between. Don't be so focused on the top of the stairway that you trip on the steps.

b. Seek to love, it is the peg on which all else hangs. His purpose and plan for you will be revealed as you seek to love God first, then yourself, then others as you love yourself. Self acceptance is one of His main goals for all of us. Be comfortable in the skin you are in. Be content but never satisfied with the growth He walks you through. We need to be able to feel that we like ourselves but always look forward to the improvements he brings to our character. This is not talking about your outward appearance. I am talking about the you within. Who God has created you to be. Know your motivational gifts first and foremost so that you can recognize who God has created you to be.

Check Your Priorities

Keep your priorities right.
"Seek ye first the kingdom of God".., that is the state of God ruling and reigning on the throne of your heart.

Don't seek God for how he can use you. Seek Him for who He is. Receive His love so that you can communicate it to others.

Don't seek God for what He can do for you. Those things are just a side benefit of loving Him.

Avoid False Expectations

Avoid false expectations. Your pastor is not going to cause your word to be fulfilled or your destiny to come to pass. Yes he plays a vital roll but he will not rescue you. God says "because I love you I will rescue you".

Do you go to University and expect the Dean to get you to graduation? No. It is your responsibility. The Dean sees to it that you have some of the resources but it will take your studying, your passing the continual tests, and your getting out there and getting life experiences. Where do you ge those life experiences? You get them at home, in your family, at work with friends and so on.

Don't think it will be any different in seeing Gods plan played out in your life.

All in all you are on an adventure with God. Enjoy the ride.
